Book Recommendations for Writing Resources

Updated: Mar 9, 2023

As writers, we've all had those moments where we need a way of saying something, a new verb, or a new description. Instead of reusing the same word you used a sentence before, we need a fresh word!

I'm there almost every time I write. My brain turns to mush and I can no longer think of other verbs that mean the same thing as the one that I just used. I am all about a thesaurus. In fact, I have two apps on my phone for this - a dictionary and Word Hippo. Both work well for me.

I also enjoy having books close by that I can flip through and peruse quickly. These gems were recommended to me (thanks Amazon!) during my mindless scrolling of books, and I have found them helpful.

  1. Everything in the Writers Help Writers series. These niche books are perfect for quick ideas!
