A new year calls for new reading goals and aspirations, and the best way to spice things up is with a reading challenge! A challenge helps to reach your reading goal in a fresh and fun way.

So let me introduce the Judge A Book By It's Cover Reading Challenge!

Reading Challenge Instructions

The concept:

This challenge is all about choosing books based on their covers, not just by summaries, reviews, or hype. Trust your gut. Let aesthetics lead the way.

How it works:

• There are 32 prompts

• For each prompt, choose a book that fits the visual description on the cover.

• Try not to read the synopsis first — judging by the cover is encouraged!

• One book per prompt.

Rules (or lack thereof):

• Any format counts: physical, ebook, audiobook.

• Any genre counts.

• DNFs are allowed — just swap in another book.

• Mood reading is welcome.

• Rereads are allowed (optional).

Tips:

• Pull from your existing shelves or browse a bookstore/library just by sight.

• This challenge pairs perfectly with Bookstagram photos.

• Have fun discovering books you might normally overlook.

• Please feel free to tag me in your reading challenge posts! I love to see them (@jl_books).
